# New Power BI Service Connector for Fabric
Import and refresh semantic models and reports from Power BI Service in just a few clicks.
When we created Power BI Documenter, we decided to use PBIT templates to understand the structure of your semantic models and reports. Today we're introducing a new connector that allows you to import directly from Power BI Service - make it even easier to document, review and improve your reports.
### What is it?
A direct connection to your Power BI Service tenant that allows you to import semantic models and reports - including thin reports, Power Query (M) logic, relationships, measures and other meta data directly into Data Vizioner.
Unlike other solutions on the market, this can be setup within minutes and avoids the need for complex IT setup and configuration. In fact, you can try it for free on a 7-day trial.
### Why is it important?
Increasingly organisations are working in the cloud and can no longer rely on having access to a local copy of a semantic model or report to generate a PBIT template file for use on the Data Vizioner platform.
Here’s why our new connector matters:
- **Easy setup**: Designed to observe your delegated permissions, avoiding the need for complex tenant-wide consents or usage of a service principle. Simply login and import in a few clicks.
- **Security minded**: This is a big win for security and governance teams. Everything is kept within your organisation’s standard access controls, making adoption much easier in enterprise environments.
- **Helps maintain data sprawl**: With increased self-service reporting, often directly in the cloud, it is important to be able to easily access semantic models and reports regardless of location.
Overall, the ability to connect directly to Power BI Service enables a security first, cloud-ready data intelligence solution for enterprise BI teams - with all the features you already have with PBIT files and more, and it works with our new AI powered description feature announced earlier this year.
### How does it work?
We believe in working smarter, not harder. Once you've created your account, you'll be prompted to add your first file. Watch the video, or follow the instructions below to get started.
Once your file is uploaded to [Data Vizioner](https://app.datavizioner.com/), follow these quick steps:
- Click **Add Semantic Model or Report **on the Files screen.
- Select **Import from Power BI Service** and login to your Microsoft account**.**
- Choose your preferred workspace, and then browse through your semantic models and reports.
- Click **Import** to bring into Data Vizioner. This may take up to 30 seconds depending on size.
- You can reload the latest version the same way, or by clicking the reload icon.
Just like PBIT files, we only capture the structure and meta data relating to your report, not the dataset itself. This best practice ensures security concerns are mitigated at the outset.
### **Who is it for?**
The Power BI Service Connector for Fabric is available on all paid accounts, and 7-day trials. It does not require Power BI Premium capacity or Fabric capacity to connect - so is available to anyone with access to a Power BI workspace.
